BIC Brings a Lease of Life to CJ Botha Secondary School’s library During Global Education Week.
Every year, for Global Education Week BIC reaches out to schools in the vicinity of its Head Office to find out where they can make a real difference where it matters most. This year, BIC chose CJ Botha Secondary School as the beneficiary of a library refurbishment and stationery donations during Global Education Week.
Driven by its purpose-led mission to improve learning conditions for 250 million students globally, BIC partnered with school staff to identify what would make the biggest impact. The result? A fully refurbished library and essential stationery resources for every learner. Each student received a Global Education Week drawstring bag filled with BIC stationery—pens, pencils and coloring products, along with BIC shavers, sanitary pads, and breakfast porridge sachets, ensuring learners have both educational, personal and nutritional essentials.
This initiative was a true team effort, with volunteers from across departments coming together to repaint, refurbish, and furnish the library, and assemble student packs with care and passion. Over 45 volunteers spent the day on-site, transforming the space and witnessing firsthand the joy and excitement this project brought to the learners.
Through initiatives like Global Education Week, BIC continues to live its purpose: providing the tools and resources learners need to stay in school and succeed.
